MEDICAL WEIGHT LOSS FAQS
A medical weight loss diet is a guideline of the types of foods and the quantities that should be eaten in conjunction with your personalized weight loss program and is typically given to you by the bariatric and medical weight loss center you are working with.
This diet normally is structured around a reduced calorie intake that includes no processed foods, no sugar, few starches, reduced salt, and is high in protein and green leafy vegetables.
At your first consultation, you will complete an extensive medical history and comprehensive assessment. We will discuss your goals, ideal weight, and current lifestyle and then formulate a realistic plan to help you achieve those goals.
A metabolic assessment, laboratory evaluation and physical exam will be completed at your initial visit and guide formulation of your individual plan.
You may also undergo some testing to determine the appropriate medication that will work best for you. Otherwise you may be asked to return after going to your primary physician with the information necessary.
You will get to know the doctor and many of the medical support professionals and determine which ones you will need to make your program successful.
Unlike other programs our medical weight loss programs do not restrict calorie intake to unsafe levels. You can expect safe, holistic plans to safely get to your desired health, weight loss and wellness goals, without compromising health and safety.
Under Dr. Julie’s care, you will receive a full evaluation and intake, nutrition plan, exercise and physical activity goals to follow while also using the medication.
Monthly group coaching sessions and check-ins are available to help keep you on track.
You will have monthly appointments to meet with Dr. Julie, discuss your progress and make any dose adjustments to your medication.
